Starting from the 2024/25 season, Tim Fluch, a promising young conductor from Berlin, will serve as an assistant to the General Music Director (GMD) at the Staatsoper Unter den Linden Berlin. He will take on conducting responsibilities during Christian Thielemann's tenure as the head of the opera house.
Born in Berlin, Tim Fluch received his first musical education in the „Staats- und Domchor“ and Children’s Choir Berlin. There he experienced conductors like Daniel Barenboim, Sir Simon Rattle, Claudio Abbado und Andris Nelsons and sang leading roles as a boy soprano. In Berlin he went through a pre-study program and gave his conducting debut at age 16 with Mozart’s „Die Zauberflöte“.
