Ni Fan (范妮) is Artistic Director and Principal Conductor of the Sichuan Symphony Orchestra, and Professor at the China Conservatory of Music. She completed her Konzertexamen in Conducting at the Hochschule für Musik Saar (Germany) and is currently a Visiting Scholar at Huazhong University of Science and Technology. In addition, she serves as Permanent Conductor of the China Youth Philharmonic Orchestra.

She studied conducting with the renowned maestro Prof. Manuel Nawri and, during her training, received high recognition from leading figures such as Markus Frank (Artistic Director and Chief Conductor of the Anhalt Theatre, Germany), French conductor Jean-Philippe Wurtz, and Prof. Sian Edwards, Head of Conducting at the Royal Academy of Music in London.

Ni Fan has collaborated with a wide range of distinguished orchestras, including the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra, Saxon Wind Philharmonic, Ensemble Adapter Berlin, LUX:NM Berlin, Ensemble Ö! Zürich, the National Ballet of China Symphony Orchestra, China Film Symphony Orchestra, Beijing Symphony Orchestra, Shanghai Philharmonic Orchestra, Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra, and many others across Europe and China. She was invited for two consecutive years to conduct the Anhaltische Philharmonie Dessau at the renowned Impuls Festival. Particularly committed to contemporary music, she has led numerous world premieres, earning unanimous praise from composers.

In early 2019, she conducted three operas co-produced by Deutsche Oper Berlin and the Hanns Eisler School of Music Berlin, receiving wide critical acclaim. That same year, she served as Music Director of a major contemporary music festival. As a guest professor, she has given conducting masterclasses at the Universität der Künste Berlin and the Hochschule für Musik Saar. Her distinctions include the Montblanc Prix Montblanc Award for Outstanding Young Musicians and Germany’s Start-up! Music Young Musician Award.

In recent years, Ni Fan has appeared at major festivals and leading venues worldwide, including the China International Music Festival, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Festival, Kissinger Sommer, and Budapest Spring Festival, as well as the Berlin Philharmonie, Konzerthaus Berlin, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía (Valencia), and the National Centre for the Performing Arts in Beijing, among many others.
