Bilbao Sinfonietta is a versatile and flexible chamber orchestra, capable of encompassing classical-contemporary music in different contexts and with a clear goal: to reach the heart of current culture through coherent and daring interpretations. BS consists of the most outstanding instrumentalists of each section, whose trajectories support the talent of this energetic and solid formation.

Founded in 2016, BS develops a wide array of proposals where it demonstrates its versatility and interest in deploying and sharing ideas with other artistic disciplines, as well as in materializing its own ones, co-producing projects with various festivals and theatres. BS's unique programme includes operas, incidental music, projects with dance and video, symphonic works and chamber music, beside maintaining an abiding commitment to newly created music, having incorporated the composer-in-residence figure into its artistic team from the 18/19 season.

After the success achieved in theatres such as the Arriaga in Bilbao and the Auditorio y Palacio de Congresos in Castellón, BS' engagements have multiplied in recent seasons, having participated in festivals and spaces such as the Musika-Música festival in Bilbao, the X Cycle of Concerts of the BBVA Contemporary Music Foundation, the Itsas Soinua festival in Lekeitio, the Udaberriko Kontzertuak cycle in Basauri, the Guggenheim Museum, the Euskalduna Palace in Bilbao, the Amurrio theatre, and the 'Har-resi' Hall in Agurain. BS perseverance in continuing to develop cooperative projects has led to collaborations with prominent artists such as soprano Ángeles Blancas, dancers Lucía Lacarra & Matthew Golding, conductor Rainer Hersch and stage director Barbora Horáková, among others. Since its foundation, Iker Sánchez Silva has been the musical director of the Bilbao Sinfonietta.
